Our story

Marichka, a Ukrainian-Canadian singer and lead vocalist of the Daughters of Donbas project, designed hoodies with embroidered sleeves. Bohdan Petrychuk, a renowned master and restorer of old traditional clothing, creates and sews sleeves from hemp fabric in his village of Babyn, Kosiv district, Ivano-Frankivsk region of Ukraine. They are exact replicas of traditional embroidery from various regions of Ukraine. The magic of combining worlds, time, and fabrics happens at Maryna Krasovska's studio in Kyiv.

The first hoodies became the official stage outfit of the Canadian band Balaklava blues. Within three years, they traveled with the musicians hundreds of thousands of kilometres across all continents of the world. In March 2024, Marichka sold her first concert hoodie directly during a concert auction in the American city of Minneapolis. The hoodies became popular not only among the Ukrainian diaspora but also among indigenous peoples. One Indigenous dancer exchanged her hoodie for traditional moccasins of her tribe, which she specially wove for Marichka.

In 2024, jewelry appeared in the collection - earrings, bracelets, rings, made in Kharkiv by old friends and volunteers of Marichka. All jewelry is made of used bullet shells and decommissioned weapons. Material - brass, Studex.

The appearance of these jewelry pieces gave the brand its name - 4.5.0. In military language, this is the coded response to a situation check at a military observation post. 4.5.0.— means all good, all calm. No enemy observed.  Within the observation radius, there is peace and tranquility. Everything is fine. This response is the most desired among military personnel. It brings peace and hope. Silence and relief. Hope that everything will continue to be fine.

The use of this code has become, in a way, a wish for peace and hope that everything will be fine. Marichka embroiders these numbers herself on each bags in which she puts her products. Logo design by Nikita Titov.

Until April 2024, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of items from the 4.5.0. brand went to support a tank battalion, where Marichka is a volunteer-medic, and tactical medical items for medics, with whom Marichka received a combat medic rescuer certificate.

From Ukraine with love.
